Live Recording Toolkit for WING

Record your WING. Get named tracks. Done.

No more renaming dozens of WAV files after the show. Every track is named and colored like your console, and your DAW session is ready when you hit stop.

Never miss the start again

The band kicks in while you're still at the stage box. Companion already has the first notes, or started on its own at the time you set.

Up to 5 Minutes of Pre-roll

Companion keeps the last seconds in memory, so a recording starts before you press REC. Also when it's started on the WING or on schedule.

Recording at a Set Time

Set a start time and the recording starts on its own, right on time. Until then the REC button counts down, so you can see at a glance that it's armed.

Use both: armed for 20:00 with 10 seconds of pre-roll, the recording begins at 19:59:50.

FAQ

Got questions?

Everything you need to know about WING Companion. Can't find an answer? Get in touch.

You need both control and audio connections. Connect your computer to your WING's network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi to sync recording channel names and colors. For audio, use USB, Dante, MADI, or Waves SoundGrid with the required hardware and drivers. The control connection alone does not provide recording audio.
WING Companion supports all three Behringer WING models: WING (full), WING Compact, and WING Rack. The app auto-detects your model and adjusts the available channel count accordingly.
You can name and color the WING channels routed to your recording. Names and colors sync between Companion and your WING and carry over into your DAW session. Channels outside your recording routing cannot be edited in Companion.
Yes. You can set individual tracks to mono or stereo, matching your console routing. The WING itself makes stereo recording cumbersome. Companion handles it natively, so your stereo pairs stay intact from input to DAW.
Every recording comes with a Pro Tools session, a REAPER project, and a DAWproject file, which opens in DAWs such as Bitwig Studio, Studio One, and Cubase. All three link to the same WAV files, with track names and colors taken from your console. Any other DAW can import the WAV files directly.
Yes. Companion can automatically start and stop in sync with the WING's SD card recording. If you trigger recording from the console, Companion follows. Works both ways.
Turn on pre-roll and every recording starts up to 5 minutes before REC was pressed, also when it is started on the WING or at a set time. Companion keeps that audio in memory while your audio interface is connected. You can also set a start time, and the recording starts on its own.
No feature limits. The free trial includes everything for 7 days: naming and coloring recording channels, all recording interfaces, mirror recording to a second destination, pre-roll and scheduled recording, DAW project export, and PDF input sheets. The only limit is time: after 7 days you need a license to keep using the app. A recording that is running when the trial ends is never interrupted.
WING Companion runs on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). On Windows it records through the ASIO driver of your audio interface.
You purchase a one-time perpetual license. No subscription, no recurring fees. Your license key works on up to 3 machines. All future v1.x updates are free.
