The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

2. Overview of Data Processing

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We treat your data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations (GDPR, BDSG) and this privacy policy.

3. Hosting

This website and our license server are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestrasse 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on servers located in Germany. Requests are delivered through the content delivery network of Cloudflare, Inc., which protects the website against attacks and speeds up delivery. When you visit our website, the server and Cloudflare automatically process information that your browser transmits. This includes:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referrer URL
  • Time of request

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional website.

4. Analytics

We use a lightweight, self-hosted analytics system for privacy-friendly website analytics. It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across websites. All data is aggregated and no individual visitor can be identified.

To see which links and partners lead to purchases, your browser remembers for as long as the tab is open where your visit came from: the source named in the link (for example a partner's name) or the website that linked to us. When you start a purchase, this source is passed to our payment processor with the order. It describes the link, not you.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in understanding website usage to improve our service. No consent is required as no personal data is processed.

5. Payment Processing

Licenses are sold through Link (Link, LLC, a Stripe company), which acts as the reseller and merchant of record for all orders. When you make a purchase, you enter your payment details, name, billing address, and email address directly on the Stripe checkout page. Stripe processes this data as an independent controller to handle payment, taxes, invoicing, refunds, and fraud prevention. We do not receive or store your payment details. Stripe shares your email address and the order details with us so that we can deliver your license key.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR — processing necessary for the performance of a contract.

6. License Key Delivery

When you purchase a license, we store your email address, the order details, and the generated license key to fulfill your order and provide support. We send the license key by email using Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA), which processes your email address on our behalf. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

7. Desktop Application

WING Companion is a desktop application that runs entirely on your local machine. Audio recordings are stored locally on your computer. The application does not transmit audio data or session data to our servers.

The application contacts our server for license validation and update checks. During these requests, the following data is transmitted:

  • Application version and platform (e.g. macOS, Windows)
  • Your IP address
  • A cryptographic hash of your device identifier (not the identifier itself)
  • Your license key, if activated
  • The date your trial period began, if applicable

This data is not shared with third parties and is used solely to detect and prevent license abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in protecting the Software against misuse.

8. Cookies

This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Essential cookies may be set by our hosting provider or payment processor to ensure functionality.

9. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
